Last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers traded away Zahir Hope, River Ryan, and Brady Smith to receive back-to-back American League Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal. This trade has sent shock waves in the baseball world, and there have been many rumors of a lockout. As you know, the Dodgers have won back-to-back championships, and their star-studded lineup is favored to win this year’s Fall Classic. So, adding Tarik Skubal to an already great team that has players like Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Kyle Tucker, Mookie Betts, Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto caused a lot of controversy. The rumors running around have been about a lockout. This means that teams will refuse to play for many different reasons, but in this case because the Dodgers are too overpowered.
