Nick Kurtz Can Make History
20 consecutive games without a walk??? Wow!
Nick Kurtz is on the verge of surpassing Barry Bonds for the second-longest consecutive walk streak in MLB history, behind Roy Cullenbine, who in 1947 set a record of 22 straight games with a walk. “It’s crazy,” Kurtz said of his ongoing walk streak. “I don’t think anyone should be compared to Barry Bonds. But to be in the same discussion, even if it is about walks, is pretty cool.” Whether he thinks he’s worthy or not, Kurtz will now forever have to be mentioned in the same sentence, as his 20-game walk streak is now tied with Bonds, who waked in 20 straight from 2002-03 with the Giants.
